Chilli Padi Tok Panjang invites diners to savour the flavours and rich heritage of the Peranakan culture. Tok Panjang translates to "long table" and is traditionally a decadent and delicious Peranakan feast for family and friends during special occasions. First started out as Chilli Padi Nonya Café in 2009, today our restaurant offers an immersive dining experience with traditional and modern Peranakan influences. Be prepared to indulge in an extensive traditional Peranakan buffet, or weekday executive lunch sets including signature Peranakan dishes such as Ayam Buah Keluak, Beef Rendang and Nonya Chap Chye.
Step into the world of Peranakan cuisine with the irresistible Ayam Buah Keluak. This iconic dish was first brought over to Singapore by Peranakan families form Java and Sumatra. Succulent chicken pieces are simmered in aromatic spices consisting of buah keluak, candlenuts, turmeric, chilli, galangal (a type of ginger root), and belachan (prawn paste).
Beef rendang is a dish with a long history in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore with variations distinct to individual regions and communities. No culinary journey through Peranakan cuisine is complete without savouring it. The slow-cooking process not only ensures a tender texture but also allows the flavours to meld into a harmonious crescendo.
